Meet Jacquie Rajerison, our Scientific Illustration intern. With a marine biology degree and a love for drawing, she uses her impressive talent—and a mix of watercolors, pencil, and colored pencils—to illustrate a Japanese spider crab molt, helping our veterinary team study this deep-sea giant up close.
One of her favorite parts of the internship is illustrating necropsies (an animal autopsy). Every animal has a story, and she feels honored to help document its final chapter. Her drawings become a tool the team can rely on for future care. Jacquie hopes her art gives a little love to creatures that are often misunderstood, and shows just how remarkable they can be.
