Advanced AI-Powered Tools

Reefability’s suite of intelligent features leverages cutting-edge AI algorithms to guide users at every step of their reef-keeping journey:

Test Scout

Seamlessly interprets complex data sets from Microbiome, eDNA, ICP, and DOC tests, simplifying them into clear, prioritized recommendations. Users can now translate once-intimidating scientific results into practical, day-to-day aquarium care.

Tank Scan

Harnesses AI-driven photo recognition to identify unfamiliar organisms and emerging issues. Tank Scan provides comprehensive management strategies, enabling users to address potential threats before they escalate.

Reef Mate

Instantly assesses compatibility between current livestock and potential new additions. From fish to corals and invertebrates, Reef Mate offers guidance on introducing species that will coexist harmoniously, preserving the delicate balance of your reef.

AI Chat

Acts as your on-call reef-keeping expert, offering real-time, personalized advice informed by both your tank’s unique data and established marine care best practices.

Revolutionary Data Management

In a hobby where meticulous record-keeping can mean the difference between coral flourishing or failing, Reefability streamlines data logging with state-of-the-art features:

Bulk Data Entry

Digitally captures handwritten logs via photo recognition, making manual data input a thing of the past.

Continuous Monitoring System Integration

Effortlessly sync data from smart sensors and third-party hardware, consolidating all tank metrics into a single, user-friendly dashboard.

Automated Trend Analysis & Predictive Insights

Our AI engine flags emerging patterns and forecasts potential issues, giving reef keepers time to address concerns before they escalate.

Intuitive Parameter Logging

A streamlined interface allows users to record key parameters quickly and accurately, ensuring consistent tracking of vital data points.

Our Thoughts

One of the most common questions I saw was whether this app was compatible with existing auto testers or automation ecosystems. While the app cannot link directly to existing apps, users can screenshot their auto-tester results and upload them to the app, allowing the data to be easily transferred into Reefability.

In the last year, the question I have been asked the most by people with ICP, N-DOC, or Aquabiomics data is, “What do I do?”. Due to the complexity of many of these data points, consumers have had to go to mentors or people with extensive experience with the test or literature to answer this question. Now that Reefability exists, users can upload their results, and the AI will break down what the data means and what actionable steps they can take.

Unlike other AI tools like Chat, GPT Reefability is trained on a minimal data set specific to aquariums and literature about reefs. It has been extensively tested by people with years of experience in the hobby and familiarity with ICP, DOC, and Microbiome data and fine-tuned to eliminate “hallucinations” (the occurrence of AI making up data to answer user questions).

Additionally, all of Reefability’s data will be uploaded to a central database. As the database continues to grow, this presents an amazing opportunity to do cross-relational comparisons across a large sample size to illuminate emerging trends with coral disease, chemistry, and aquarium management.

The team at Reefability is openly taking suggestions to continue to improve the product. They have been testing the ability to use image detection/recognition paired with their AI to determine the value of test kits. For instance, if you use any titration-based test, you will have to compare the color of the vial to a color card. This can be tedious. Reliability would theoretically be able to look at your vial, and then color match it to the card and give you a numeric value, taking the guessing out of testing.

It will be interesting to see how this app continues to evolve over the next year. The Reef Builders team will be playing with it plenty to help determine it’s best use cases, limitations etc – stay tuned for updates.
