Introducing The New Girard-Perregaux Laureato 42mm “Infinite Grey” Watch

By Jovan Krstevski

For 2025, Girard-Perregaux throws its hat back in the ring with the new Laureato Infinite Grey. Leaning on nearly two and a half centuries of horological chops, the maison has dressed up its signature integrated sports watch with a dial that’s anything but off the rack, making a quiet nod to old world craftsmanship without coming across as too pleased with itself.

The 42mm x 10.68mm steel case is immediately recognizable to seasoned eyes and sticks to Laureato’s long standing design grammar, striking a respectable balance between presence and restraint. Its layered silhouette is a combination of octagonal bezel atop a circular plinth within a tonneau profile, giving it a bit of geometric sleight of hand. Polished and satin-brushed surfaces flit between reflections depending on the light. Water resistance is pegged at 100 meters.

What really sets this version apart is the dial. This one’s cloaked in a grey Grand Feu enamel, made in-house and fired between five and ten times at 800°C. Each layer deepens the bluish hue while preserving a clarity that doesn’t muddy the view. Beneath the enamel lies a sunray flinqué motif, coaxing a play of light and texture that subtly shifts with every glance. Rhodium plated baton hands sweep over matching indexes and the date display at 3 o’clock is neatly tucked in with a color matched disc.

The engine room has the GP01800, an in-house automatic Calibre with a 54 hour power reserve. It runs at 4Hz, features a full 18k rose gold rotor and is finished with Geneva stripes, perlage and beveled edges.

The steel bracelet mirrors the case finish, and is integrated into the case for a clean fit. The price is USD17,900 / GBP15,200 / CHF 17,100 / EUR 18,800.
