Red & Blue Brewers Series Created to Support Canfield Mountain Heroes and Families
Breweries across North Idaho have joined forces to launch the Red & Blue Brewers Series—a collaborative fundraising initiative honoring and supporting the first responders, and their families, who were killed or injured during the Canfield Mountain incident on June 29th. Other breweries are invited to join the effort.
Each participating brewery is crafting its own “Red & Blue” beer and donating proceeds to the Red & Blue Foundation’s Canfield Incident Fund. The Red & Blue Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting first responders who are injured, terminally ill, or killed in the line of duty.
At the time of publication, ten North Idaho breweries have signed up for the initiative:
- Brewscape Beer Co.
- Bombastic Brewing
- Chalice Brewing
- Daft Badger Brewing
- Kaniksu Brewing
- Knucklehead Brewing
- Outpost Brewing
- Trails End Brewery
- Westwood Brewing
- Vantage Point Brewing.
“Over the past couple days, I’ve seen our local brewing community reaching out—through social media, texts, and phone calls—looking for ways to give back in the wake of the Canfield Mountain tragedy,” said Brian Engdahl, founder of Chalice Brewing. “I believe we have a powerful opportunity to come together and do just that.”
On social media, Kris Herambourg of Kaniksu Brewing, shared the following: “I’ve always believed that beer brings people together in good times and bad. The last couple days have been challenging for many of us. We all want to do something but don’t know where to start. It’s time for all of us to come together and show our support.”
Community members can support the Red & Blue Brewers’ Series in several ways:
- Brew: Breweries are encouraged to pledge a “Red & Blue” beer.
- Drink: Visit participating breweries and raise a glass in support.
- Partner: Distributors, retailers, and industry partners can help amplify the campaign.
