How Much CBD Should I Give My Pet?
The approximate recommended dosage for pets is 0.5mg per pound of body weight. Each drop is roughly equivalent to 1mg CBD. So for example:
- 10lb Animal = 5mg (5 drops of CBD Oil)
- 20lb Animal = 10mg (10 drops or .2ml CBD Oil)
- 50lb Animal = 25mg (25 drops or .5ml CBD Oil)
For severe issues like epilepsy and seizures, a higher dosage seems to be the most effective. For milder issues like emotional stability or anxiety, a low to medium dose is going to be the most efficient.
General Guidelines | CBD for Pets
1.) Give your vet a call before starting a CBD regiment. Ultimately, you want to make sure that CBD wouldn’t interfere with your pets current medication or health conscious.
2.) Start slow and build up gradually. We recommend starting with 0.5mg per 1 lb, once a day. If you aren’t seeing the desired effect, give 1mg per 1 lbs once a day.
Note: if your pet is rather large with a high metabolism (eating 2-3+ full meals a day), gradually increase the mg’s until the desired effect is achieved.
3.) Monitor your pet for the first two weeks. Since your furry or feathery friend can’t directly tell you their needs, monitor your pet for a couple hours after each dosage to ensure mood, mental clarity and alertness. CBD is meant to help your pet live a more fulfilled life without feeling lethargic or effecting their lives in a negative way.

But seriously, there are a lot of good, responsible companies out there providing high-quality, organic CBD. As long as you check for 2 things, you and your pet will always be safe & satisfied:
1.) Does the product have independent 3rd party lab testing? (Check out our lab tests!)
2.) How much am I paying per mg? If you’re paying more than $0.07 per mg for CBD isolate you’re paying too much!
