These are the required keyboard combinations on Windows and Mac for each shortcut.
1. Open a new tab
- Windows: ctrl + T
- Mac: ⌘ + T
Example use case: highlight a keyword, press ctrl C + T + V to copy, open a new tab (you will automatically jump to it), and paste.
2. Open link in new tab
- Windows: ctrl + left click
- Mac: ⌘ + left click
Alternatively, click with your middle mouse button.
Example use case: you’re reading something online and come across a hyperlink that you want to have a look at without closing your current tab.
3. Open new window
- Windows: ctrl + N
- Mac: ⌘ + N
To open a new window in Incognito mode, add shift:
- Windows: shift + ctrl + N
- Mac: shift + ⌘ + N
4. Open link in new window
- Windows: shift + left click
- Mac: shift + left click
