12 Useful Google Chrome Shortcuts | by Thomas Guenter | ILLUMINATION


Using these Google Chrome shortcuts on a daily basis can boost your productivity

These are the required keyboard combinations on Windows and Mac for each shortcut.

1. Open a new tab

  • Windows: ctrl + T
  • Mac: ⌘ + T

Example use case: highlight a keyword, press ctrl C + T + V to copy, open a new tab (you will automatically jump to it), and paste.

2. Open link in new tab

  • Windows: ctrl + left click
  • Mac: ⌘ + left click

Alternatively, click with your middle mouse button.

Example use case: you’re reading something online and come across a hyperlink that you want to have a look at without closing your current tab.

3. Open new window

  • Windows: ctrl + N
  • Mac: ⌘ + N

To open a new window in Incognito mode, add shift:

  • Windows: shift + ctrl + N
  • Mac: shift + ⌘ + N

4. Open link in new window

  • Windows: shift + left click
  • Mac: shift + left click
