Interaxon Inc., a company specializing in consumer neurotechnology, has secured $9.5 million in a Series C funding round through a private placement. Among the key investors in this round is Alabaster, the family office of entrepreneur Sonny Vu, known for founding Misfit, a wearable technology company acquired by Fossil Group for $260 million in 2015.
Investment Details
The funding round was led by BDC Capital, Alabaster, and Export Development Canada, alongside new institutional investors such as Phyto Partners, Iter Investments, Intretech (HK) Co, and The Clavis Foundation. Ariel Garten, co-founder of Interaxon, also participated in the round. Due to strong investor interest, the company has opened an additional allotment for oversubscription, with a final close expected by the end of Q3.
With the newly acquired capital, Interaxon plans to expand its brain health platform, including the introduction of a membership-based model and further validation of a feature tracking long-term changes in brain activity. The company also aims to strengthen its offerings for researchers, clinicians, and third-party developers.

Alabaster, the family office of Sonny Vu, has made investments across various technology and deep-tech sectors. Beyond Interaxon, its portfolio includes companies such as Jeeva Wireless, General Graphene, Advano, Accio Systems, and Redefine Meat. Vu previously led Misfit, a company focused on wearable and smart home technology, raising $65 million across multiple funding rounds before its acquisition by Fossil Group in 2015.
