The political saga is getting so interesting these days. The highway had looked straight ahead, but it changed into 2 lane roads and hairpin turns. Nothing is what it seems, including the FBI (for once). Trump’s political retribution tour is on the edge of a cliff, and he refuses to acknowledge it. He can’t see the tour bus is balancing on 2 wheels.
Ms Halligan is having trouble with the Comey and AG James cases in Virginia. She keeps opening her mouth when it would have been better to keep it closed. She’s had an endless list of mistakes. Bondi stepping in for support made it worse. It would be best to have the cases dismissed, because they’re such a mess. She can’t do that for Comey, though, because of the statute of limitations. What happens next?
There isn’t a current AG prosecutor listed for the Maryland case at this time. This is the one regarding revenge on Senator Adam Schiff for “mortgage fraud”. It’s not starting well, either. They had pulled in a witness on the side of the *prosecution*, or so it seemed. She absolutely had everything turned around on her. This is where we find ourselves in the saga. From Raw Story:
Christine Bish thought she was heading to Greenbelt, Maryland, to testify to a grand jury about Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and mortgage fraud allegations — but instead had an unexpected meeting, MS NOW anchor Ana Cabrera said Friday. The grand jury was hearing allegations that Bill Pulte and Ed Martin illegally shared sensitive information in the administration’s mortgage fraud probes of Democratic figures and Trump enemies. This is another stunning curveball for the DoJ.
Ha. Oops. Well, win some, lose some. That must have been one hell of a course correction to make. I looked her up, and all I could find on her was that she’s a politician. Not exactly sure who she was speaking to the grand jury *for*, now. It still seems it’s for the prosecution without a prosecutor. Wut? Well, we shall leave that question open-ended for now and move along.
“[Martin is] basically spearheading many of the DOJ’s inquiries into Donald Trump’s political opponents. He’s a darling of Donald Trump. Now, his own Justice Department is investigating him,” Dilanian said. He talked to Bish on Thursday after her surprise chat. “She was summoned to the grand jury, subpoenaed, and she showed up yesterday in Greenbelt, Maryland,” Dilanian reported. “Instead of testifying before the grand jury, she had an interview with a prosecutor, an FBI agent, and others. But instead, they were grilling her about her communications with Pulte, with Martin, and with two other men who she said spoke to her about this.
Should have taken that turn at Albuquerque. *ahem* This is quite a turnaround. You can’t exactly read from prepared notes or such. Maybe that was exactly as intended. There’s a better chance of actual honest answers instead of a prepared and rehearsed testimony. To close:
The investigation is ongoing. Bondi and Blanche are also aware of the updates to this investigation, and that “nothing of this level at the Justice Department happens without the senior people at least being briefed on it. This is a huge deal. They know that. They knew that if it got out, it would be a massive, massive story. I mean, where else have we seen anything like this? One legal scholar, commenting on our reporting yesterday, called this an extraordinary sign of life for the rule of law. We’ll have to see whether that remains the case.”
This had best remain. The FBI noticed *something somewhere* and so far, this is the first hint of what may happen. We should kinda be looking forward to what comes out from here. In the meantime, well, it looks like another one bites the dust, and it’s not one of “ours”. No complaints about that!
