Islamabad, January 3, 2025: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) have announced a collaborative initiative to replace Islamabad’s ageing gas pipeline infrastructure in key sectors. The purpose is to enhance gas supply reliability and address longstanding issues faced by residents.

SNGPL’s effort will modernize the city’s gas pipeline, equalising the distribution network and ensuring a more consistent supply to consumers. CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa has directed the Engineering and Environment Wings to issue NOCs promptly to facilitate this project. He assured SNGPL about the Authority’s full cooperation in expediting the replacement process.
In response to winter gas shortages, SNGPL has outlined plans to ensure uninterrupted supply during peak meal times and improve overall gas pressure across the city. These measures will provide relief to residence facing immense gas shortage in chilly weather.
Chairman Randhawa also emphasized the urgency of providing a gas connection for the Gandhara Citizen Club in Sector F-9, highlighting the project’s significance. He commended SNGPL for its swift relocation of service lines to accommodate Islamabad’s mega projects.
