According to reports, 8-year-old Cristal Jane Arcasa was reported missing after she was last seen at approximately 4:30 PM on June 5 in Purok 13, Timoga, Barangay Buru-un, Iligan City. Her photos was widely shared on social media, garnering significant attention among netizens and prompting numerous individuals to assist in the search following a heartfelt appeal from the family.
On June 9 at approximately 3:00 PM, authorities responded to a report from a concerned citizen who noticed a foul odor and subsequently discovered a body in the area. Upon arrival, police found the lifeless body of a child lying on a rock near a creek. Police stated that the body was already in an advanced stage of decomposition, indicating the child had been dead for several days before being found.
