Finding The Dream by Nora Roberts
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Finding The Dream is the third book in the Dream trilogy series of contemporary romances.
This is the story of Laura, who is a daughter within a wealthy family. Marrying at a young age, her husband stole all her savings. Now she’s a survivor, raising her daughters and holding down two jobs, while refusing to take a penny from her family.
Michael Fury’s teenage bad boy reputation still surrounds him, but he’s finished with running from life and he’s now found peace with his horses. However, when a storm washes away his home and barns, Laura’s brother Josh suggests that Michael rents Laura’s disused stables.
Both the horses and Michael give Laura and her girls the chance to hope and dream once more, but can it ever be more than a short-term plan?
Once more the dramatic Big Sur coastline of California plays a part in this story. Laura is drawn to the cliff edge when she needs time alone. While the mystical tale of Seraphina’s treasure—the lost hoard of a girl who took her life at the cliffs long ago—adds another layer to the story. Laura’s friends Margo and Kate, whose stories can be read in the first two books in the series, continue to have dominant roles and I enjoyed the strong friendship that the three women still had. A lovely ending to an enjoyable series.
Book Description:
From the outside Laura Templeton’s life looks charmed: the daughter of a wealthy family, married to the man of her dreams and the mother to two beautiful daughters. But her dreams are short-lived, and it all collapses when Peter doesn’t prove to be the kind of husband or father material Laura has dreamed of.
With her best friends, Margo and Kate, recently married and starting their own families, Laura feels isolated. Then her brother’s friend, bad boy Michael, asks to rent her stables and she reluctantly agrees. Laura finds him disturbingly attractive, but Michael is a man who has never stayed long with any project or commitment. Dare she lay her heart open once again?
