99p Kindle Festive Reads for November – Jill’s Book Cafe
As already highlighted in my previous post, there’s a change in format over my previous year’s Festive Reading list/s. However, there’s still plenty of titles to choose from. Plus, if you don’t read eBooks, most of these titles are also in hard copy so you’re not missing out on reading choices. All the titles listed have been published this year. If you want to dig about in the archives take a look here
Just a reminder, I don’t have access to a master list of bargains, and my choices are based on the cover, blurb, gut instinct and what takes my fancy at the time, as well as the fact that at the time of listing they were 99p!

A Very Merry Murder by Kate Wells
When Jude Gray inherited Malvern Farm, she never thought she’d become so used to farm life, let alone be good at it! But now a beloved national TV show is coming to film their Christmas special on her land, celebrating the charm of rural living.
At least, that’s the plan… until one of the crew is found dead in suspicious circumstances.
At first, it looks like a tragic accident, but when alibis start to crack, it seems like anything but. With a growing list of suspects and enough behind-the-scenes drama to rival anything the cameras are capturing, Jude must dig deep to uncover the truth.
Because someone on her farm is hiding a deadly secret – and this year, the season of goodwill may come with a killer twist…

Death at the Village Christmas Fair by Debbie Young
It’s been a busy year for Alice Carroll, with her Curiosity Shop opening for business, and not one but two murders shaking things up in her quaint Cotswold village. She’s looking forward to her first countryside Christmas, complete with traditional Christmas Fair and Santa Run.
But her hopes for innocent festive fun are thwarted when one of the Santa Runners steals something from her mum’s knitting stall. His festive outfit makes him hard to spot, until he’s found fatally injured outside the village hall with the stolen item.
Despite what the police say, Alice suspects there’s more to his murder than meets the eye. She’s determined to solve the mystery – including why, once more, a stranger thought something from her Curiosity Shop was worth killing for.
With the help of her charming neighbour Robert Praed, can Alice find the killer before the bells ring out this Christmas?

The Christmas Market Murder by Peter Boland
’Tis the season for mince pies, mulled wine . . . and murder!
A dead body. A locked Christmas stall with no way in or out.
A cunning killer who’s gone before the tea’s gone cold.
Christmas in Southbourne should be all twinkly lights and festive cheer, but Fiona, Daisy, and Partial Sue — the retired trio who run Dogs Need Nice Homes charity shop — have little to celebrate. What with the elusive ‘Southbourne Stalker’ prowling the streets of their sleepy seaside town, they’re in need of a little seasonal magic.
The new Christmas market seems the perfect tonic: fairy lights in the pines, the scent of cinnamon on the air, and mugs of steaming mulled wine. Until . . .
A desperate scream shatters the calm.
Postmaster Scott Preston is trying to break into a locked market stall. His father’s inside — and in terrible trouble. By the time the door is forced, it’s too late. His father is dead.
The police say he took his own life. But Scott can’t believe that’s true. His dad was many things, but tidy wasn’t one of them — and the stall is suspiciously spotless. Someone had a good clear-up before making their getaway.
Now the ladies must unwrap a mystery knottier than a string of Christmas lights, before someone else ends up six feet under the mistletoe.

Mince Pies and Murder by JR Leigh
Have yourself a deadly little Christmas… 👀
As Christmas approaches in the Cornish town of Seal Bay, festive cheer fills the air. Sparkling trees and twinkling lights adorn every corner, and Morwenna Mutton, the sharp-witted sexagenarian sleuth, is eagerly counting down the days. But when local author Pawly Yelland is discovered dead, a champagne flute in one hand and a mince pie in the other, it seems this Christmas will be anything but merry.
Pawly had made no secret of his disdain for some of the local crowd — and now, with his death, a long list of suspects emerges. As the police begin narrowing down those with a motive, Morwenna knows she’s the only one who can uncover the truth and restore some yuletide magic to Seal Bay.
But things take a darker turn. Mysterious Christmas cards arrive on doorsteps, and sightings of a sinister Santa-costumed figure at windows only add to the growing tension. Can Morwenna solve the murder before Christmas is ruined for good?

Murder at Mistletoe Manor by FL Everett

The next morning, a body is found in one of the luxurious four-poster beds.
As twelve strangers become eleven suspects, who among them has checked in with murder in mind?
And will any of them live to see another Christmas…?

A Christmas Murder in Merrywell by Jane Bettany

Once again in the wrong place at the wrong time, Violet Brewster is on hand to offer the police her astute – if perhaps unwelcome – opinion on the crime. While the police dismiss the death as an accident, Violet senses that there’s more to this tragedy than meets the eye.
Determined to uncover the truth, she must navigate a maze of secrets and lies before the killer strikes again. As the festive season unfolds, can Violet solve the mystery before it’s too late?

12 Ways to Kill Your Family at Christmas by Natasha Bache
All Olivia wanted was one last miserable Christmas with her husband’s awful family before moving to Australia. She didn’t expect a murder.

As the bodies pile up and the festive façade starts to crack, Olivia must survive the season, or, at the very least, get through lunch without anyone else choking on a sprout.
Sharp, smart and deliciously twisted, this is Christmas with all the trimmings: cold cuts, warm lies and at least one suspicious pudding.

Not Another Bloody Christmas by Jo Middleton
Anna’s taking the family away for Christmas. Unlike last year, there will be no risk of her burning the turkey, far less nagging from her mother-in-law and – crucially – a zero per cent chance of finding a dead body in her larder.

But it’s not just terrible jokes, quick costume changes and backstage chaos that wait in the wings… When the Widow Twankey (otherwise known as Tim, the mayor’s husband) trips over a corpse lying next to Aladdin’s bloodstained magic lamp, it’s time for Jodie and her partner, DCI Nathan Withers, to find the killer.

But when they’re both roped in to organizing the town’s Winter Wonderland parade, they’re forced to work together. And as Christmas approaches – will two opposites merely attract?
