I am delighted to share my review today for B of the Bang by Andrew Shanahan. I came across this title on Kindle Unlimited, it is a fun and unexpected book.
All across London, billionaires receive an emergency alert from specialist extraction company B of the Bang. A nuclear missile is inbound and society’s elite have less than 70 minutes to reach the bunkers. As they head for the exits, it’s your fault if you get in the way.

MY REVIEW
There should be a genre called “madcap and mayhem” because this is exactly what this book is. It was a fun one to read and I am glad I did.
When an alert goes off on the phones of London’s elite, the royals, the rich, and the like, there is a quick rush to the bunkers that they have paid a lot of money to go to in the event of an “end-of-the-world” scenario.
The story is told from the perspective of several characters, one is a royal who is not quite high enough up the line to be classed as important, a man who teaches computer program stuff, a lobster, a billionaire and a mish-mash of others that they come across.
The fight and flight scenario is great and it is told in a chaotic but very amusing way. There is no way of working out how things are going to end, I am sure the author wasn’t sure as he wrote it. I cannot imagine how you can plot this storyline.
This is an unexpected apocalypse story as there are so many antics, ploys and deviations along the way. If you are looking for something different then this would definitely fall into that category. It is one I would be happy to recommend.
