Stephen Moss’ book is a fabulous treasure trove of facts and figures about this impressive little bird. He includes all kinds of interesting stories, myths and country legends that anyone who enjoys nature watching will just love to read. No spoilers here but when it has been known as the ‘king of birds’ and, when you discover there are/were traditional ‘wren hunts’ for whatever curious reasons, you just have to keep on turning the pages.
Highly recommended.
