MY REVIEW
I always wanted to be a drama teacher, so this new novel By Any Other Names by Jodi Picoult, I couldn’t put down, for it being part of my upmost passion. Twenty one year old Melina is a budding playwright. She wants nothing more than to write a plays that her professor will love. The only thing is every play Melina writes, it’s about things that has happened to her. To make it as a playwright she will have to learn to take criticism. One of Melina’s plays has the title By Any Other Name, in which her play was about her ancestor, Emilia Bassano, who in 1959 – 1645, was the first woman in England to assert herself as a professional poet. Romeo and Juliet fans will adore the adventures of Melina, a student studying to become a well-known playwright. I have always loved storytelling around Shakespeare. For me I totally loved the whole story which had the theme playwright, poet interwoven throughout, close to my heart.
