My mother tried to destroy me. She doesn’t exist to me anymore and my father, the one who raised me and the biological one, are both works in progress. The only two people that I can trust are Mason and Logan, and they’re the two people who I could lose. It won’t happen. I won’t let it. No matter the truth, no matter who loves me, I won’t let anything or anyone come between us.
They’re my world. They’re my life.

The heroine: Samantha – Logan’s ex girlfriend Tate told Sam that Logan was in love with her, and it is messing with her mind. Mason once told her that no girl would ever get between him and his brother and Sam is worrying that Logan being in love with her will ruin everything. So now that Mason is away at college, Sam has been avoiding the one guy who she loves like a brother and who helped protect her the last few years.
The Hero: Mason – he is now attending Cain University, a division one college and playing football for the team. His best friend Nate is also attending the college. He promised that nothing would come between him and Sam during their year apart while he is attending college and she and his brother Logan are finishing their last year of high school at Fallen Crest Public.
The Story: Sam’s former best friend Becky is now her enemy. Becky is now one of the elites at Fallen Crest Academy and is friends with Cass who is dating Mark whose mother Melinda is engaged to Sam’s dad. Melinda banned Cass from their house after Cass threw a glass of wine at Sam. Mason is at college playing football and living in the football house, Nate is living in a Frat house, Logan with his Mom Helen and dating a new girl “Kris”, while Sam lives with her Dad and separates herself from Logan since things have been uncomfortable between them. She’s so afraid of losing Mason and Logan that she’s basically pushing them away.
This book went in a totally different direction than I expected now that Mason is attending college. I expected him and Nate to grow closer now they are away at the same college, and I expected Sam and Logan to grow even closer as friends and step-siblings since they are alone at Fallen Crest Public. A ton of stuff happened in this book, and I was very surprised at some of the revelations. The story has been getting better and better, and I really liked where this one went. I liked to see Sam’s life getting better as it was in such a bad place in some of the earlier books.
This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Saskia Maarleveld and Graham Halstead. Saskia has a terrific voice and sounds very natural. She is great at doing different voices for different characters. I am not fond of Graham Halstead’s voice. I think Mason would have a much deeper voice; Graham’s voice sounds a bit nerdy, which is not at all like Mason. Though Graham does sound natural and is a good narrator. I am getting more used to his voice.
