A cursed gift. A deadly betrayal. A myth reborn.
The deadliest monsters wear the prettiest faces…
In this spellbinding Greek mythology retelling, Medusa—the youngest sister in a powerful gorgon coven—is destined to become a devout priestess. But everything changes one horrific night when betrayal strikes, and the goddess Athena curses her with a terrifying new power: the ability to transform between mortal and gorgon.
Now hunted for the very gift she never asked for, Medusa is forced into hiding. Her sisters will stop at nothing to steal her power. Her sanctuary in the mortal city of Lydara, protected only by secrecy, begins to unravel when she’s falsely accused of using dark magic to create murderous stone golems.
Framed. Feared. Forgotten.
Medusa must uncover who is really behind the chaos—before the ancient magic rising from the shadows destroys everything she’s built and everything she loves.

This is a new author for me. Her Writhing Crown is a Medusa retelling. It’s imagines the events that led the beautiful Medusa to gaining her deadly snakes and what happens after. Somone is changing her stone statues into murderous golems but who and why? I love mythology retellings and actually chose Medusa as the subject for my final essay for my OU degree in 2022 so I expected to enjoy this. I thought this was a gripping read and I loved the world building. I’d recommend this.
