Well, hello there book lovers! You’re probably thinking ‘wow Amy is posting for the first time since May, and you’d be right. I have taken a little hiatus away from my blog and the book community in general, and in this post I just wanted to explain why.
I started a new job at the end of February as a Primary School Librarian. I love the job but it does take up a lot of my time, and I just haven’t had the time to blog, as my weekends are usually busy too. Another reason is that I’ve been in a major reading slump, and to be honest I just haven’t wanted to pick up a book and review it. There have been a few times in the last few months where I have read some amazing books but I just didn’t have the drive to blog about them. My passion for book blogging had taken a dip, and I lost my creativity to come up with new and fresh ideas. I’ve also started writing my first middle grade novel and I’m so into writing it at the moment, so that’s also another reason.
One last reason is that I got married two weeks ago! I was meant to get married in May 2020, but had to postpone due to COVID. It crept up so quickly, so the planning and getting prepared for it took a front seat. It was all worth it though, as myself and my husband had a beautiful day and the extra two years of waiting was so worth it! We aren’t having honeymoon yet, as we are saving up to go to New York next year, which I’m incredibly excited for.
If you’re wondering if I’m going to be blogging again, the answer is yes! My passion for reading and blogging has slowly come back, and I am going to be trying to put new posts up twice a week, as I feel that’s manageable for me. I’ve also got the summer holidays coming up, so I’m going to have plenty of time.
I do apologise again for going quiet, but I’m looking forward to getting stuck into blogging again and integrating myself back into the book community.
