Dave Thompson wrote in his excellent book “Candy Striped Cauliflower Capers [A Wyrd Folk Sampler 2013-2023]” about The Bordellos “Ronco Revival Sound” album “this is the album where everything we would come to love about them truly coalesced ” why do i bother to tell you that ,well the 5 tracks on this ep are tracks that where recorded in and around the recording of that cult classic ,a album so good people where afraid to buy it or even listen to it . This period in time was when the Bordellos where truly at the top of their game and recorded many songs around this period but we only put 11 on the album . So here on this album are 5 other songs . King Of The Bedroom a track so Liverpool sounding you will be talking in a thick scouse accent and depending on your age group thinking you have just stepped out of A-the Cavern B -Erics C- The Zanzibar . By the end of this pure 2 minute dash of tongue in cheek mischief musical magic . Temperature Drop a track taken from a live radio session for WA12 radio of a song that of course included on the Ronco Revival Sounds album and in fact was so popular with people made that years John peel/Dandelion Radio festive 50 and this is my personal favourite version of that fine song. I’m A Man a cover of the Bo Diddly song there was two versions recorded this and a version that ended up on The Fruits De Mer Annual split 7 inch ep this is slightly more manic and captures the good time and the madness we had making the Ronco album. Burnt is the first track we recorded for the Ronco Revival Sessions album and was never ever going to make the album as it was not good enough , but listening back to it all these years later i am thinking nice guitar riff and was i going through a listening to Billy Childish phase then . Stuck On a Memory Of You . Yes a ballad that i ended up giving to the lovely Belgium Band “winter Tyres” who recorded a rather excellent version for their debut ep .
