Chelsea transfer news: Rodrygo – Rodgers

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you may have missed featuring the likes of Morgan Rodgers, Nicolas Jackson and Rodrygo…

Pundit Alan Shearer has opened up and tipped Nicolas Jackson to leave CHELSEA this summer transfer window, as Enzo Maresca prefers Liam Delap and Joao Pedro as his two main attackers.

Chelsea have already bolstered their attacking options this summer with a £30 million deal to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and a £60m move for Joao Pedro from Brighton last week, and there is talk that they will continue their summer of spending.

Delap scored his first Chelsea goal against ES Tunis in the Club World Cup group stage, while Pedro has made an immediate impact with his impressive displays already in that Blues shirt.

The Athletic report that Jackson is not deemed as ‘untouchable’ at Chelsea and could be sold if they receive a high enough offer, and now Shearer has opened up and tipped the attacker to depart the club at some point this summer window.

He was quoted on the Metro: ‘As soon as Pedro came in and scored the two goals and Delap’s already there, if there’s one person that’s going to be shifted out then my guess it would be Jackson.

‘It wouldn’t surprise me if they’ve already offered him to other football clubs and they’ve enquired about it.’

IcFootballnews says…

Jackson was decent at times for CHELSEA last season, he chipped in with a few goals, he was the man that Enzo Maresca could rely on, but that is no longer the case and the Italian boss now has a few options.

If the right offer does arrive at the club over the next few months, then yes, Jackson will leave the club as he will not want to sit on the bench every week and watch his career pass him bye.

But it would be interesting to see just where he ends up.

RODGERS MOVE TO BE MADE?

It has again been claimed CHELSEA are once again lining up a summer move to try and bring Morgan Rodgers from Aston Villa amid all the speculation that Villians may need to sell this transfer window in order to balance the books.

Unai Emery’s side missed out on qualifying for the elite European competition after their final defeat against Manchester United consigned them to Europa League football next season. Villa had an impressive run in the tournament last season, beating the likes of Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig before they were knocked out by eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain in a dramatic quarter-final.

But Villa have now been hit with an unconditional €11million fine for a breach of the organisation’s financial regulations, including €5m for failing to comply with the football earnings rules plus €6m for breaching the squad costs rules.

And that has led to alot of speculation in the media suggesting that a number of top clubs are lining up a number of moves for Villa’s top players, including Morgan, with reports in the Athletic website claiming that CHELSEA could make an offer for Rodgers.

He made an immediate impact at Villa and made himself a contender to be considered for the England senior squad, not long after his £15m move from Middlesbrough.

IcFootballnews Says…

Rodgers is brilliant on the ball and so tough to take it from him, he is a great player for Aston Villa and they will not want to lose a player that is so dangerous against pretty much any defence.

Villa do have some financial issues, but they will not want to start letting their best players go, otherwise it will be a step back from all the hard work from the past few seasons.

And to be honest, Rodgers is very happy at Villa right now and will not want to leave the club.

CHELSEA MAKES RODRYGO MOVES

According to the Spanish television show El Chiringuito over the weekend, CHELSEA have recently approached Rodrygo’s entourage to enquire about his availability now that Noni Maduake is leaving the club

Maduake had his breakout season at Chelsea last campaign and put in some good performances, with those displays leading to England calling him up, where he also impressed in that National shirt.

However – he is one player that Chelsea have been keen to sell this summer after their summer spending spree, and now an agreement has now been struck, Fabrizio Romano reports, with Chelsea accepting Arsenal’s offer which is in excess of £50million with add-ons included.

Madueke will now sign a five-year deal to become the sixth player to swap Stamford Bridge for the Emirates during Mikel Arteta’s reign in north London

And according to reports on reports, Chelsea will use the money that they get from the sale of Maduake in order to complete a transfer move for Rodrygo, who has been tipped to leave Madrid this summer.

According to the Spanish television show El Chiringuito over the weekend, Arsenal and Chelsea have recently approached Rodrygo’s entourage to enquire about his availability. The report claims that the Real Madrid winger views London as an ‘attractive destination’.

icfootballnews says…

Rodrygo has been world class for a few seasons, he is playing at Real and scoring the goals that big time players should be scoring, but his time at the club is probably coming to the end as the Spaniards look to keep on improving the side.

However – CHELSEA do not really need to splash the cash and add another winger to that attack, they already have a number of players that can do the job that Rodrygo does and we are sure that a move to the London clubs will not happen.

If he does leave Madrid, it could be for a move to Saudi Arabia or PSG, that would suit his style of football.
