The close of another year is approaching which means it’s that time when we look back at the highest rated wines we tasted and reviewed from Costco during 2025.

It’s always fun to review what we enjoyed over the course of the year, and sometimes you can still find these wines in stores now. You never know what Costco has up their sleeve.
In fact, this year we found the 2018 Kirkland Brunello back in stores, even after the 2019 vintage was released.
But alas, many of these wines will be gone, and if they made the cut to be on this list of 13, we hope we see them return with the next vintage.
Let’s get into this year’s list.
2021 Vina Ventisquero Heru Pinot Noir Casablanca Valley
First up is a Pinot Noir from Chile; likely not a wine you were expecting to see kick off this list, but what a delicious, hearty, well made $25 Pinot Noir that pulled down a whopping 94 points from Wine Advocate, and 91 from us [our review]
2022 Hess Allomi Cabernet Sauvignon
Just a classy Napa Cabernet from Hess here; 92 points from us and priced at almost half of retail at Costco ($26.99) [our review]
2022 Kirkland Signature Suscol Vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
The first Kirkland wine to hit this list is a perennial favorite and the latest 2022 vintage delivered once again; 93 points from us [our review]
2019 Altos de Valdoso Crianza Ribera del Duero
This turned out to be a fantastic Costco wine find from early in this year; a Crianza Ribera del Duero for $12.99 with a little age built in, ready to drink now, 91 points [our review]
2023 Kirkland Signature Chateauneuf du Pape
Kirkland wine #2 on this list is another favorite that consistently delivers the goods, and this 2023 vintage is one of the best in recent years [our review]
2021 Argyle Nuthouse Pinot Noir Eola-Amity Hills
We said it pretty clearly in our review: this wine checked every box for us. It’s an elegant, beautiful Pinot Noir from Oregon, that is highly rated among the critics, and we went 93 points. A standout for 2025 [our review]
2021 Domaine La Boutiniere Chateauneuf-du-Pape
This was a fun find and a great alternative to the Kirkland Chateauneuf mentioned above if that one has sold through. We went 92 points on both bottles; this one is just a few bucks more, and it’s a solid wine to look out for [our review]
2023 Diatom Chardonnay Santa Barbara
We really raved about this Santa Barbara Chardonnay that was absolutely delicious and a steal for $18.99 at Costco. And we’ve seen this one still lingering around in stores near us [our review]
2021 Kirkland Signature Barolo
It’s impossible to keep this wine off this list. It seems to make it on every year, and with this vintage, it’s one of the best we’ve ever tasted. 93 points and a big thumbs up this time around for one of our favorite Kirkland wines [our review]
2015 La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 904
This one is not only on the Best of the Year list, it might be THE Best of the Year. A stunning wine, and one of our favorites for many years, but this 2015 vintage really raised the bar. We weren’t thrilled with the price increase at Costco, but this bottle remains a top choice and one that you should have in your cellar [our review]
2023 Kirkland Signature Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Here’s another popular Kirkland bottle making the list; this is usually a favorite, but this 2023 vintage was particularly good earning a 92 points from us and a big thumbs up [our review]
2023 Domaine de L’Olivette Bandol Rose
Definitely need to give a shout out to this amazing Rosé we tasted earlier this year; an absolute delight to drink, and one taste instantly transports you to seaside Mediterranean [our review]
2023 Kirkland Signature Pauillac Bordeaux
And finally, an old favorite returns after disappearing seven years ago. Let’s hope the Kirkland Pauillac is here to stay this time. It’s drinking pretty nice right now, but built for the long haul [our review]
And that’s our list for 2025. It’s great to see some new Kirkland additions hit the list, as well as many other delicious wines we found throughout the year that we hope to see again in future vintages.
