While looking for a CBD product, you may come across something called CBG. This isn’t a new thing, but it can be a bit confusing as to what the difference is and which you should choose. Cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabigerol (CBG) are both cannabinoids in the cannabis plant and both are non-euphoric which means you don’t get high. THC is the active component in cannabis that gives the high feeling and in legal CBD and CBG products, the amount of THC should be less than 0.3%. While you may know by now that CBD helps with conditions such as anxiety, sleeplessness, and inflammatory conditions. CBG studies show that it may help in treatment of some more serious conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease. The main difference between these two is simple. CBD is a major cannabinoid while CBG is minor. This doesn’t mean CBG doesn’t work though. CBG is even being shown to help treat irritable bowel syndrome because of its anti-inflammatory properties. CBD and CBG can safely be taken together, and many products now have both CBD and CBG in their formula. Looking for CBD? Read about red flags to look out for when buying CBD.
