Chase had a Hot Wheels themed 5th Birthday Party – and the DIY favor display was a hit! I love how it doubled as themed decor AND a fun way to present the party favors!
Here’s how I made it!
I got a peg board and pvc pipes at Lowe’s. We were able to cut our supplies at home, but you can also have them cut it in the store! The big white pegboard came in white. It was the perfect option for our color scheme, but you could easily paint it to go with your theme!
For the PVC Pipes – Make sure to get 2 elbow connectors, 2 t-connectors and 4 end caps. Just make sure whatever size PVC Pipes you get, your pieces are the same. I’m pretty sure we did 3/4…possibly an inch. I’ll update this once I check. 😉
We built the frame and spray painted it matte black. Then, we used zip ties to attach the peg board to the frame. Because of the holes in the board, it was so easy!
I found these awesome hooks on amazon for the peg board. (You can find the same idea in other colors too but the matte black option was perfect.
Then we loaded it with hot wheels! It was so fun going to the store and picking out the hot wheels that I thought the kids would like the most. (My boys were THRILLED when I came home with two target bags full haha.)
This display doubled as party decor (SO CUTE.) and then the guests took their favors off it at the end! During the party, it was so fun being able to say to the kids they get to pick one to go home – their eyes lit up! I loved how this did double duty… the money I spent on this project really made the theme pop, and then it also was the favor set up.
