What’s new in furniture and homewares: June 2025

Here’s our monthly roundup of what was new in June 2025.

We love how Roboert Gordon continue to expand their homeware collection, this time with these gorgeous cylinder ceiling lights. After the success of their wall sconces, seen in every other designer bathroom it seems, we’re sure these will be popular. Our friends at Norsu always curate the most gorgeous things, so no surprise you can find the full lighting range there in multiple colours from blush pink to more earthy neutrals and greys.

And, while we’re talking about cool stuff from Norsu, check out this glorious rechargeable gold lighter for your candles! Never knew I NEEDED one, but I really do!

The launch of MOR’s the new Car Fragrance Collection reimagines everyday travel with a dose of timeless elegance. Designed to elevate your daily commute (or freshen up your wardrobe), the collection showcases MOR’s five most iconic scents, Marshmallow, Peach Delight, Italian Pear, Crème Caramel, and Primavera Fig housed in beautifully crafted, aluminium diffusers with their signature peacock motif. Whether clipped to the car vent or hung by a ribbon in a drawer or office, these versatile and ultra-stylish scent pieces bring a luxurious sensory experience to even the smallest spaces. I was lucky enough to be sent one to try and I’m enjoying my car smelling so lovely and girly and less like soccer boots and chips!

The new handcrafted Fazeek Swirl collection is SO me. It comes in black and white and pink and red versions and you can guess which is my favourite! Willy Wonka vibes anyone?! All I see is lollipops!

As technology becomes more integrated into our daily lives, it’s no surprise that our homes—and particularly our kitchens—are getting smarter. Leading the way is the AEG a standout in intelligent design and performance. This premium cooktop makes a powerful visual statement with its matte black, anti-fingerprint and scratch-resistant surface.

Beyond aesthetics, the cooktop is designed for seamless functionality. Key features include:

  • FlexiBridge: Customise your cooking area to suit large pans or multiple dishes with adaptable zone control.
  • PowerSlide: Effortlessly glide pots across three preset temperature zones. Ideal for searing, simmering, or keeping food warm.
  • Heat Memory: No need to reset if your pot is lifted or spills happen, your settings are remembered for up to 120 seconds.
  • Hob2Hood: Enjoy hands-free ventilation as the hob automatically adjusts your hood based on what you’re cooking.

This month, I loved being introduced to the high end Italian fragrance brand Dr Vranjes Firenze, available at David Jones. They held a beautiful winter fragrance event at Greg Natale’s gorgeous Potts Point store in Sydney; a match made in heaven!

Castlery is set to officially open the doors to its first Brisbane showroom at the end of August. The Singapore-founded direct-to-customer furniture brand will be setting up home in the Fortitude Valley precinct, marking its second brick-and-mortar showroom in Australia.

An artist’s impression of the new Brisbane store

Located at 147 Robertson Street, the two-storey, 540sqm space marks Castlery’s next step in its expansion, following the success of its Sydney flagship. The Brisbane showroom will feature 22 curated room sets, offering visitors a tactile, immersive experience of the brand’s modern and obsessive design ethos.

“Brisbane marks the next chapter in our commitment to Australia,” said Declan Ee, co-founder. “Following our Sydney launch, we knew we wanted to bring the full Castlery experience to more Australians. Fortitude Valley has transformed over the past decade — from an industrial fringe to one of Brisbane’s most vibrant design and lifestyle districts. It’s a story of reinvention and creative energy that really resonates with us at Castlery. We are excited to now be part of the neighbourhood and to welcome customers into a space where they can see, touch, and experience our collections – and imagine how they might live with them in their own homes.”

The Orla Kiely rugs by Unitex, available at Temple & Webster and Freedom, are perfect for layering underfoot in cooler months and carrying through into brighter days ahead. Known for her iconic retro-inspired motifs, Orla’s rug collection brings an instant lift to interiors, no matter the season.

There’s always something new at IKEA. I love this new $35 NISSAFORS trolley in green, which also comes in black, yellow and white. So handy in the bathroom, kitchen or home office or for kid’s craft supplies. And the new KUDDLAVA pleated table lamp with Scandinavian influences offers soft mood lighting for just $15! Made of plastic, of which at least 50% is recycled, it’s topped with a decorative knob made of solid wood.

The new limited edition blue-black ALEX desk at $199 also caught my eye. Perfect for a teenager’s bedroom or study space. This desk combines smart storage with sleek design. You’ll love the built-in drawers keeping things tidy, the generous worktop, and cable management.

Cricut, the DIY creative tech company that empowers consumers to make professional-looking customised and personalised items, has partnered with three Indigenous artists – Kyralee Shields, Leah Cummins, and Caitlin Trindall – to launch a collection of Indigenous art and NAIDOC Week inspired designs in Cricut Design Space.

The collaboration marks a unique celebration of NAIDOC Week (6–13 July 2025) with all proceeds from designs supporting local Indigenous charities nominated by the artists. Importantly, this partnership brings the rich cultural heritage of Indigenous traditions, symbolism, and storytelling to life through a digital art medium, and into the hands of millions of creators worldwide.

Happy July, readers!

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
