Hubby and I play favorites. We’re not ashamed to admit it. And when it’s time for “us time” we have a favorite, magical, cozy, spot nestled in the middle of the holiest city in the world. The Terrace by Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem is a secret Mediterranean garden, overlooking the city skyline, perfectly positioned beneath the cool Jerusalem evening breeze.
And while the ambiance is to-die-for, it’s the menu that’s really the main attraction.
The Terrace hosts a gorgeous open-air kitchen featuring dishes designed for sharing. And share we do!
Together we order Tempura Cauliflower, Sea Fish Cigars, Adana Kabobs, Balik Ekmek, Arayes, Beef Fatayer, Tandoori Chicken Skewers, Denis Filet, Lamb Asado, Entrecote Steak, and Sliders (because they are just so cute and easy to eat) – basically almost one of everything on the menu.
There’s nothing like the flavors and aromas of a sophisticated Mediterranean kitchen.
We wash it all down with a pina no colada mocktail for me and a tequila for him. Although I highly recommend ordering the signature Jerusalem of Gold cocktail at least once, if only for the gram. It’s a smoky, take your breath away, smooth, regal, instagram worthy, sensory experience.
And of course, I always have room for dessert! Seriously. “I’m too stuffed for something sweet” is a sentence that has, like literally, never escaped my lips. So I order the Exotic (a pineapple cake with coconut cream) and Warm Chocolate Fudge (self explanatory). One for me and one for Hubby (because I can’t decide and because he usually lets me eat both while he orders a second Entrecote for the road).
There is a serious cigar menu for the serious (and not so serious) cigar smokers and a bar stocked to the hilt in case you were worried or wondering.
I love celebrating any occasion at this oasis with the breathtaking backdrop of Jerusalem: Birthdays (until 120!), anniversaries (bronze, silver, gold, platinum) a job promotion (may you have many), great news (may you have good health and lots of reasons to celebrate) or just for “us time” – The Terrace by the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem is the place to mark your special moments.
If you want to experience The Terrace for yourself this summer, with someone you love or with a bunch of friends (you like) you can make a reservation for the best night out in Jerusalem here.
