London-based post-punk trio, deep tan, have debuted their newest single ‘xenomorph queen’, ahead of opening for Queens of the Stone Age on their UK and Europe tour next month.
Short and snappy, ‘xenomorph queen’ is a punchy, zipping punk track, with hooking guitar lines and a lurching rhythm. It takes on a swagger, with simmering build-ups and playful lyricism looping around each-other in a cycle of vibrant, celestial fun.
Speaking about the track, deep tan said: “‘xenomorph queen’ witnesses the real star of the alien franchise in a new context: in the throes of a lesbian romance. a sensual – but still punk – track about matriarchy, queer parenting and sapphic love, this close encounter offers a new, intergalactic perspective on #hotmilfsinyourarea #xenomilf”.
Released as a standalone single, the track comes after last year’s release of the band’s dynamic second EP, diamond horsetail.
The trio are set to begin their tour with Queens of the Stone Age in Amsterdam on November 4th.
