Proceeds from the Limited-Edition Ale Will Support Project Bread’s Mission to End Hunger in Massachusetts
PRESS RELEASE / November 10, 2025 (Cambridge, Somerville and East Boston, MA) – Project Bread and Lamplighter Brewing Co. are turning pours into progress toward ending hunger in Massachusetts. On October 17, the organizations launched “Bread Zeppelin,” a limited-edition charitable beer benefiting Project Bread and its mission to connect people and communities across Massachusetts to reliable sources of food, and to advocate for policies that ensure everyone in MA can access and afford food with dignity.
“Bread Zeppelin” is a smooth, ginger spiced ale with notes of cardamom, clove, spiced pear, rye toast, and gingerbread. Inspired to reduce food waste, the ginger pulp used in the brewing process was upcycled from local restaurant, Bon Me’s, ginger lemonade.
“This partnership with Lamplighter Brewing Co. is about bringing our community together to transform food access across Massachusetts,” said Shannon Healey, Director of Institutional Giving at Project Bread. “Every purchase of ‘Bread Zeppelin’ supports Project Bread’s work, from our FoodSource Hotline answering the calls of thousands of families facing hunger, to our policy team advocating for lasting systemic change. Especially right now, so many people are looking for ways to help their neighbors. This season, supporting Project Bread’s collaboration with Lamplighter beer can help get food resources to families in need. We’re proud to work alongside Lamplighter Brewing Co. in building a Massachusetts where no one goes hungry.”
The beer will be available through the end of December.
People experiencing food insecurity should call into Project Bread’s toll-free FoodSource Hotline (1-800-645-8333), which provides confidential assistance to connect with food resources, including SNAP benefits, in 180 languages and for the hearing impaired.
