
PRESS RELEASE / June 18, 2025 (Ipswich, MA) – True North Ales has added additional hardware to its trophy cabinet with recent wins at two major brewing competitions.
AUSTRALIA
The best beers in the world were tasted and judged at the prestigious 2025 Australian International Beer Awards, with True North Ale Company earning three medals. Holy Schnitt! Munch Helles Lager and Gran Paradiso Italian Pilsner won Silver medals while Willowdale American Pale Ale took a Bronze.
Seth Barnum, Head Brewer at True North Ales said winning at the Australian International Beer Awards was a celebration of the team’s hard work, while also shining a global spotlight on the incredible craft beer scene here in New England. “Our talented team is capable of crafting world class lagers and ales of many different styles. The range of beer styles for which we were recognized was impressive. And feedback from the expert judges will help us in further refining these beers.”
The Australian International Beer Awards is the world’s largest annual beer competition judging both
packaged and draught beer. More than 2,200 beers were judged from breweries around the globe.
NORTH AMERICA
The 2025 North American Brewers Association International Competition announced medalists, with True North Ale Company earning four awards. For the second straight year a Gold medal went to Coast to Coast American Summer IPA. Vincianne Belgian Blonde Ale, Gran Paradiso Italian Pilsner, and Bright-Winged Dove Paloma Lager earned Bronze medals.
“NABA judges are highly qualified. Their feedback is important to our team as we strive to make better
beer with every batch,” stated Head Brewer Seth Barnum. “Winning a second Gold medal for our summer seasonal IPA is especially satisfying at this time of year.”
In its 28th year, the NABA competition judged more than 2,000 beverages, making it the fourth largest brewing competition in North America.
True North Ale Company is located in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Opened in 2017, its beers have been poured in more than 2,000 bars and restaurants and sold in more than 2,000 stores in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
