In a country where the primary love language is food, it is always such a pleasure to find a quality dining spot—one where you can enjoy not only good food but also a relaxing ambiance, somewhere you can have a fantastic time with a significant other, colleagues, or family.
One such spot in the metro is Cyan Modern Kitchen. Located on the third floor of Lanson Place Mall of Asia, this restaurant offers a refined buffet dining experience that is a must-try. The buffet is curated by Chef Kristine Oro and features different food stations: Oriental/Asian, Noodle, Indian, Carving and Grilling, Homemade Pizza, and Desserts.
We visited Cyan Modern Kitchen for their lunch buffet. Here are 3 reasons you should try the buffet at Cyan Modern Kitchen:

Reasons to try the buffet at Cyan Modern Kitchen
1. Curated quality over quantity
Cyan Modern Kitchen focuses on a selected array of dishes instead of a wide spread that you typically see in regular buffets. And although the selection is limited, it doesn’t feel overwhelming and the food quality is top-notch.
To be honest, I loved everything that I tried for their lunch buffet—from the different curries at the Indian Station to the delicious roast beef slices (perfectly cooked at medium rare, but you can also request to get it done to your likeness) and the flavorful laksa noodle soup. I almost skipped the sushi trays, but I’m glad I didn’t—again, unlike other buffets that serve low-effort maki, every bite here is fresh and tasty.

Aside from ready-to-eat dishes, the restaurant also offers make-your-own pizza, where you can choose a traditional-style pizza or a custom one and the staff will then bake it fresh for you. Grilled meats and seafood like salmon are also available.

If you are dining here, make sure to leave room for dessert. They offer traditional local desserts plus delicious-looking cakes. I personally loved their matcha cake and buko salad.

I’d been to other hotel buffets in the metro, and in my opinion, this is one of the best options in terms of food freshness and quality.
2. Nice ambiance and views
Cyan Modern Kitchen features an elegant setting, with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer views of the Manila Bay. It is a great spot to enjoy good food, whether it’s ala carte or their lunch or dinner buffet.
Currently, there are on-going developments in Manila Bay, but it didn’t really take much away from the dining experience. That is to say, I would go back here again in a heartbeat.
3. Good service
A lot of times, service is just as important as the food. This hotel restaurant has not only an all-Filipino culinary team that prepares local dishes but also but also an attentive staff that creates a warm, personalized atmosphere.
During our visit, the staff service was great, and it has just made the visit memorable.
