A family summer camp in the Philippines
We’re so excited to share this with you—this summer, we’re teaming up with the amazing crew at Hayag Farm School in the mountains of Marilog, Davao, to host a Philippines family camp that’s equal parts connection, creativity, and getting your hands (and feet) a little muddy.

If you’ve been craving something real—a chance to slow down, let the kids run wild (safely!), and remember what it feels like to be fully present—this is for you.
Hayag Farm School is a learning community built around nature, creativity, and indigenous knowledge. It’s tucked up in the cool, misty highlands outside Davao City, with forest trails, waterfalls, bamboo buildings, and people who genuinely care about living well and lightly.
Our Philippines family camp isn’t a tourist attraction. It’s a real working farm school rooted in sustainability, permaculture, and cultural exchange. And they’ve opened their doors for families like yours to come experience it all firsthand.
Whether you’re deep into worldschooling or just looking for a meaningful way to spend the school break, this is a different kind of family summer camp in Philippines—one that invites you to unplug, connect, and learn together.
This isn’t a resort-style camp—and that’s kind of the point. It’s simple, thoughtful, and full of things that matter: hands-on workshops in bamboo building, organic gardening, and wildcrafting; time with the Matigsalug community, learning from their stories and ways of living; evenings by the fire, cooking, talking, and stargazing; kids being kids, running barefoot, making forts, and learning real stuff in the real world.

And for the grown-ups? Think less structured activities, more slow moments with your coffee, conversations that go beyond small talk, and a chance to breathe without background noise.
Why are we doing this?
Because we believe learning shouldn’t be boxed in by four walls. Because kids thrive when they’re given freedom, purpose, and dirt under their nails. And because we know how rare it is to find a space where families can connect—with each other, and with something bigger.
If you’re travelling the Philippines with kids or already worldschooling your way through Southeast Asia, this is a perfect chance to pause and dig into something meaningful. We’ve got a few spots left, and we’d love to welcome you.
If you want your kids to experience what real-world learning looks like—and maybe remember a bit of that yourself—visit hayagjourney.com or message us @bostontribetravels on Instagram and we’ll happily talk through the details.
