TenderBites: Herbed Porchetta and Other Fresh Meat Delivery

As an adult, grocery shopping is one of the activities that I genuinely enjoy. Stocking our fridge with food that I can prepare and cook for my loved ones fills me with joy. Be as it may, work often gets in the way, and I don’t always have time to head to the grocery. So as you can imagine, online deliveries are a literal godsend to me.

TenderBites is a premium online meat shop in the Philippines, specializing in high-quality, expertly cut meats including beef, pork, lamb, and other ready-to-cook items. For over 30 years now, they’ve been offering both local and imported cuts to Filipinos. They adhere to strict safety and quality standards set by the National Meat Inspection Service. TenderBites products can be purchased in stores, but they also have an online store that offers same-day or next-day delivery.

Delivery as Easy as 1, 2, 3

TenderBites sent us about 2 kg of different meat cuts to try. We had:

TenderBites - meat delivery

Of course, I’d had deliveries in the past, but mostly for dry goods. It’s my first time to have meat delivered, and I’m happy to report that TenderBites’ delivery was so easy and hassle-free!

Like other people, I had bought meat from the grocery that smelled or tasted off, and so I was happy to learn about an online shop that offers guaranteed-fresh, good-quality meat cuts.

Cooking Herbed Porchetta

In this review, I’d like to focus on the herbed porchetta, which for me is a standout. It was so good!

It was my first time to cooked herbed porchetta. I messaged TenderBites’ Facebook for instructions and they were quick to send an instruction! (Also, there is an instruction at the back of the pamphlet in the meat package, which I’d only seen after I had thawed and removed the plastic packaging.)

Here are the instructions on how to cook herbed porchetta:

First, thaw the herbed porchetta overnight in the chiller or 1.5 to 2.5 hours in the kitchen counter. Observe the porchetta. Once done:

  1. Wipe off moisture and rub rock salt on the skin. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  2. Pre-heat oven or turbo broiler to 350° F (180° C).
  3. Wipe off salt and excess moisture from the skin and brush with olive oil.
  4. Plae on a rack in the pre-heated oven or turbo broiler.
  5. Roast each side for 40 minutes (1 hour 20 minutes total).
  6. For crispier skin, roast for an additional 5-10 minutes per rside at a higher temp.
  7. Let the roast rest for 15-20 minutes before carving.

I used an airfryer instead of an oven, and the cook settings are pretty much the same (40 minutes on each side at 180° C). It was so easy to prepare, and the cooked herbed porchetta was so delicious, with skin as crispy as chicharon. You can have pair it with vinegar or gravy—I personally find it flavorful enough without a dip. And of course, as Filipinos, we have to eat it with rice.

You can also order yours from them via their Facebook or website.
