Air Fryer Kielbasa – The Country Cook

Air Fryer Kielbasa is a fast, simple and delicious meal! Slices of glazed kielbasa pieces that are perfectly cooked and a homemade dipping sauce to go with it!

A QUICK APPETIZER RECIPE

When you need a quick, hearty meal, snack, or appetizer that the whole family will love, Air Fryer Kielbasa is where it’s at. I am always looking for different ways to use kielbasa since I always seem to have a packet in my refrigerator. This one became a happy accident as I had a just a small amount of BBQ sauce left in the bottle and it ended up being a great addition. I love the combination of savory and slightly sweet flavors with the homemade creamy mustard sauce for dipping. It’s quick for busy weeknights or last-minute snack ideas!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What size Air Fryer should I use?

I use a 6 quart Air Fryer with a basket as that’s the most purchased and used type of Air Fryer in the U.S. so that’s what I have tested this recipe with. If you use a different style of
Air Fryer or a different size Air Fryer you may need to adjust the cooking time based on your own knowledge of your particular air fryer.

What can I serve this with?

If you want to make a complete meal with this, you can serve it with some potatoes like I do with my Air Fryer Potatoes and Sausage. For sides, you could do some steamed veggies, or a large salad. I think these would also be good on some toasted buns as sandwiches.

Do I need to preheat the Air Fryer first?

Yes. Some folks have air fryers that don’t need preheating but preheating the Air Fryer helps make sure they cook in the proper amount of time without over cooking or drying them out.

How do I store leftover kielbasa?

You can keep the leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days. Leftovers can be frozen in a freezer safe container and can be frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw leftovers in the fridge overnight and reheat in the Air Fryer.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE)

  • kielbasa– sliced ½ inch thick. You can use any other kind of smoked sausage, it doesn’t have to be kielbasa.
  • olive or avocado oil
  • barbecue sauce – I like Sweet Baby Rays but any brand will work or you can use something else Homemade BBQ Sauce
  • light brown sugar
  • red pepper flakes – this is an optional ingredient
  • mayonnaise
  • grain Dijon mustard– Regular dijon mustard can be used in the sauce- it doesn’t need to be the grainy kind. I probably wouldn’t use yellow mustard though, that might come across too vinegary.
  • paprika
  • salt and pepper
