Crock Pot Peach Cobbler – The Country Cook

Crock Pot Peach Cobbler is made with tender, juicy fresh peaches and topped with buttery cake. It’s the perfect summertime dessert recipe!

AN EASY 5-INGREDIENT COBBLER RECIPE

I love going fresh peach picking! When I have an abundance of peaches, I know it’s time to make this Crock Pot Peach Cobbler. It’s the perfect way to use up your peaches and it has the best texture and flavor. Plus, it’s the perfect summertime dessert. It is similar to a dump cake but this recipe doesn’t use pie filling like a traditional dump cake (but you could certainly use it here.)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Can I use frozen or canned peaches?

This recipe was specifically created and tested with for fresh peaches so you can really take advantage of those fresh summer fruits. But you can use frozen or canned peaches if needed. To make with frozen peaches, simply add 4 cups of frozen peaches and continue with the same directions. You would want to use the same amount with canned peaches. I am not sure how many cans though – just keep it as close to the same amount given here. Keep in mind, canned peaches are super soft so they may fall apart a little as they cook. Just keep an eye on them when making this.

Can I use peach pie filling instead?

You can even use peach pie filling. If you use that filling, you’ll need two cans of it.

Do I have to start this early in the day?

This is a super easy recipe that you can throw together when you get home from work and by the time dinner is over, you’ll be ready for a warm dessert. No need to worry about starting it too early.

What’s the best way to serve this dessert?

This is best served fresh and warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. If you want to make in earlier the same day as serving, keep your crockpot on warm until ready to serve.

Should I peel the peaches first?

You don’t have to peel the peaches before adding them to the crockpot. They will become tender and they add to the color and texture of the dish. However, if the skin bothers you at all, just peel it off with a potato peeler.

How to store leftover peach cobbler?

You can store leftover cobbler in an airtight container in the refrigerator. When ready to eat, microwave in 30 second increments until warmed through.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE)

  • fresh sliced peaches – see my Frequently Asked Questions above for using frozen or canned peaches.
  • cake mix– you can use white, vanilla, yellow or spice cake mix. Homemade Yellow Cake Mix would work here for sure too. I used vanilla.
  • light brown sugar
  • ground cinnamon
  • unsalted butter – you can use salted butter. There is very little salt in salted butter (only about 1/4 teaspoon) so it’s not going to greatly affect the flavor.
