The board is very sad to have learned of the passing of former member, Allan McLean. Allan was the first ever winner of the Guild’s Gold Tankard, presented to the Beer Writer of the Year. He was also the first member to win it three times, also receiving the award in 1990 and 1992 for his column in the Scotsman. He is fondly remembered by many members of the Guild, and all our thoughts are with his friends and family.
