Surly Brewing from Minnesota is one of the most well known and well respected craft breweries in the world, so we are extremely excited that the Texas beer community can now get their offerings locally. Pinthouse Brewing Announced Expansion to San Antonio

A new Pinthouse in San Antonio is slated to open in early 2026, according to their social media accounts. According to a Pinthouse spokesperson, the new Pinthouse will exist in an 8,000-square-foot family-friendly facility located at the intersection of 1604 and I-10 near The Rim. 

Why Was there a Random Lone Star Shortage?

In a slightly more peculiar and decidedly less craft beer-specific update, it appears the long time owner of Lone Star, Pabst, have moved their production facilities for Lone Star from Fort Worth to Houston resulting in the shortage. “Our planned production hiatus to prepare our new brewing location in Texas is almost complete,” Pabst Senior Vice President of Brewing Operations John Kimes stated. “We will be packaging and shipping Lone Star and Lone Star Light in the next few weeks and will recover all wholesaler and retailer inventories in March.”

Barks for Beers is Confirmed for 2025

Barks for Beers 2025 is confirmed and will kick off on Thursday, May 1, and run through May 31. The price for a Pawsport will be $30 and Divine Canines has announced 30 participating breweries. Craft Beer Austin will have a more detailed article on the program as we get closer to May.
