Portland, OR – February 4, 2025 – Gigantic Brewing is thrilled to announce that starting this March, El Viejón PDX Taqueria y Mariscos will be taking over kitchen operations at Gigantic Brewing’s Hawthorne location. This exciting partnership brings El Viejón’s renowned Mexican cuisine to Portland, creating a perfect pairing of craft beer and authentic flavors.
Established by Chef Eldy Prado, El Viejón Taqueria y Mariscos launched its first food truck at Vice Beer in Vancouver in 2022, quickly building a devoted following for its authentic Nayarit-style Mexican dishes. Following the success of their first location, they expanded to a second food truck at Fortside Brewing in 2024. Their menu features a variety of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and seafood dishes, all served on handmade tortillas. Standout specialties include their ceviche, crispy fried rockfish, Cajun shrimp, and birria de res, served with rich consomé and red onions for dipping. Known for their commitment to high-quality, fresh ingredients and bold flavors, El Viejón has earned a reputation as a must-visit destination for Mexican cuisine enthusiasts.
In 2024, El Viejón earned top honors at both the Snackdown and Burger Brawl competitions, two of the marquee food and beer pairing events during Portland Beer Week.
