NEWS
B.C. Dominates the Canada Beer Cup
B.C. breweries swept the competition at the Canada Beer Cup in Quebec City this week, taking home an impressive 56 out of the 152 beer-specific awards, including gold in 18 of 51 categories. For the statistically inclined, that’s 36.8%—nearly twice as many as any other province…but, who’s counting? A hearty cheers to all of the winners!

Fire at Dog Mountain
Shortly after 2am on October 22nd, crews were called to a fire at Port Alberni stalwart Dog Mountain Brewing. The main building was unharmed, however the adjoining building that housed their grain storage (2200kg of malt), office, coffee roasting area, and canned inventory was a complete loss. Thankfully, no one was harmed and the fire is not considered suspicious.
“We are keepin’ on keepin’ on, as we do in Port Alberni;” Dog Mountain told the Growler via Instagram. “We survived Covid, highway closures and now a fire, so all we ask is for people to keep drinking our beers and to ask their local stores to bring it in.”
Excitingly, Dog Mountain now distributes on the mainland as far as Coquitlam and Langley; plan accordingly!

Slow Hand X Brassneck X FŌM Worldwide Pilsner
This super collab is one of many specially brewed for FŌM. This Pilsner is brewed with Fonio, an ancient grain from West Africa related to millet. Paired with Hallertau Blanc hops, the light, fruity, wine-like character of the Fonio is accentuated with the cassis and elderflower notes of the hops.
Crisp, quaffable, 5%. On tap and to go at Threefold.
