This Japanese rice lager is imported from Okinawa, Japan. A typical rice lager uses rice instead of corn. This beer is 5% ABV and was purchased from my local International grocery store, Super Global Mart or Super G Mart. They have a decent selection of International beer/craft beer and some domestic beer and craft beers. I highly recommend you check it out if you live or are in the Charlotte, North Carolina, area. I have had Orion at a restaurant but never had it to review until now. This beer pours golden clean with a thin, quickly fading one-finger white head. The aroma is semi-sweet and dry. The smell isn’t much, but it does smell like a domestic U.S. beer. The flavor is sweet, smooth, dry, light, and clean. This beer goes down easy. This has a light mouthfeel. Orion finishes with a dry and light sweetness. There is not much aftertaste, but it has a faint, sweet dryness that goes away as quickly as it started. This beer is great with Asian food. Orion Premium Draft is a D+. It is okay on its own, but with food, it’s a bit better, and I think it is good enough for a try.
