Later this month, nearly 50,000 people will converge into downtown Boise, Idaho for the 13th installment of the Treefort Music Fest that’ll take place from March 26-30, 2025. The full schedule as well as festival wristbands and daily tickets to Treefort are now on sale.
This year’s Treefort will bring in nearly 440 artists from 34 U.S. states and 18 various countries including Australia, Japan, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Brazil, and Canada. These artists will be performing across the entire downtown area of Boise from music venues to breweries to three stages at Julia Davis Park. There is so much to take in each year at Treefort, it truly is a shining star for the Treasure Valley.
Treefort began in 2012 as a four-day indie music and arts festival named after Boise’s moniker of the City of Trees. Sort of the Pacific Northwest’s own version of SXSW. So much so that the festival has taken place the weekend after Austin’s SXSW and booked many of the same up and coming bands. Though this year Treefort is a week later than normal and now convenes across five days, all within downtown Boise.
Treefort is more than just a music festival as it is an economic boon for the city of Boise. The 2024 festival generated $11 million in revenue for Boise and its surrounding areas, with thousands of attendees from across the globe. Even with this large attendance and expanding footprint across the city, Treefort is committed to its sustainability efforts. So much so that Treefort became the first B-Corp certified music festival in 2015.
“We are extremely proud of the positive influence Treefort has on the Boise community,” said Nathan Walker, Director of Outreach and Education. “We are excited to continue enhancing this legacy in 2025. The festival embodies our city’s creativity, resilience, and passion, and we are eager to see where this next year takes us.”
But it’s just not music at Treefort as there are various other ‘Forts to explore. Programming includes our favorite Alefort along with Artfort, Comedyfort, Dragfort, Filmfort, Foodfort, Hackfort, Kidfort, Podfort, Skatefort, Storyfort, Yogafort and Music Talks. And on the plus side, many of these forts are free to attend! That said, it does have a significant cost to Treefort as the B Corp spent nearly $250K on the 91 free music events, 5 free stages and 8 free ‘Forts this past year. So it is encouraged to purchase a full festival wristband or daily pass to help offset these costs.
For 2025, some of the headlining musical acts include Remi Wolf, Sofi Tukker, Shakey Graves, Bright Eyes, Amyl And The Sniffers, Jessica Pratt, Built To Spill, Hot Mulligan, Youth Lagoon, The Linda Lindas, The Wood Brothers, Yot Club, Reckless Kelly, Josh Ritter & The Royal City Band, Hinds, and Richy Mitch & The Coalminers to name a few. But this is just the main performers and there are hundreds more that’ll be performing over the five days.
One of the changes this year is the shortening of Treefort’s Main Stage and Hideout Stage as these two along with the Gene Harris Bandshell, all within Julia Davis Park, will be utilized from Thursday through Sunday. It wasn’t an easy decision to shorten the days of these stages, but one that is better financially for the festival and its longevity.
Treefort Main Stage Lineup

Shakey Graves, Reckless Kelly, Josh Ritter & The Royal City Band - Friday, March 28
Remi Worl, The Linda Lindas, and Built to Spill - Saturday, March 29
Sofi Tukker (DJ set), Amyl and The Sniffers, Durand Bernarr, and corook - Sunday, March 30

With approximately 440 bands performing, obviously there is no way to see all that many of them. Choosing and making a schedule is key and it’s very easy to do so in the Treefort App. It also a great way to check out the bands and to build a schedule around the bands you really want to see and based on proximity. No matter what schedule you make, you’re guaranteed to find some amazing indie music. We have never left town after Treefort disappointed, only with great memories and some solid new to us bands to dive deeper into!
But it’s not just music at Treefort. As we mentioned earlier there are plenty of other ‘Forts to check out. One that we as sure to hit up each day is Alefort.
When Julia Davis Park opens up to Treefort on Thursday, March 27th, Alefort will make its return for 2025. On tap will be a plethora of beers from over 50 local, regional, and even international breweries! No matter your interest in beer, there are surely a few offerings that will whet your whistle during Treefort!
New this year, Alefort is offering a Chuggy Bar. Living up to its name, Chuggy Bar will showcase a variety of light, sessionable pours so you can chug one or two down before catching your next band at the nearby Gene Harris Bandshell, Main Stage, Hideout Stage or downtown. In addition to the Chuggy Bar, Alefort will also be home to other beer bars so Treeforters can sample a variety of beer, all by style. There’ll be a Light & Crsipy, Dark & Malty, Hoppy, Tart & Funky, and Barrel-Aged!
But even though Ale is in the name, Alefort also showcases ciders and wine and a Zero Proof bar to sample new N/A options. This year’s Cider Bar will be serving up local and regional ciders to enjoy throughout the fest! Plus, back this year is the infamous Treefort Txotx! This historic Basque tradition is the best way to experience cider during the fest. Cheers with your pals and make new friends during this lively event with Basque dancers, freshly made paella, and taste loads of cider literally shooting out of their barrels!
