One of the reasons we opened the brewery was to be involved in the community and to give back. So we decided to give back ten percent of all sales to five local non profits. Crazy. Yes. However, we were optimistic the community would support us with this undertaking. We call this drinking to make a difference!
We wanted to do something to help military and first responders because we would not have the freedoms or safety we have without them. We picked American Heroes in Action. They take people who have been injured in the line of duty on outdoor therapy trips such as hunting, fishing, skiing etc.. My dad also served in the navy and was on an aircraft carrier in the Korean War. These people mean something to us.
We have all known people who have died from cancer. Me and my business partners have both lost our moms to cancer as well as several friends. We can’t do enough to fight this fight so we chose Colorado Cancer Foundation.
We heard about Project Angel Heart who prepares healthy nutritious meals to those suffering from difficult ailments who are not able to prepare these foods themselves. When my Mom had cancer there was a wonderful service in Nebraska that brought her meals when she was not doing well. We realized first hand the value of this group.
One of the other non profits is Food For Hope. They help feed children who don’t have food at home here in Adams County. When you realize children are going hungry in your area it’s hard not to help in any way you can. Food For Hope are now our neighbors in the west suite of our building. It feels so good to pull into work and see the food trucks go out!
Flatirons Community Church is another recipient. God has blessed us immensely throughout our lives and undoubtedly in opening this brewery. They are a terrific church and are always helping out in the local community with programs to help those in need so we have them on the list.
You may or may not have feelings toward any of these groups but if you do you can choose which one the ten percent portion of your tab goes to. Realize, this is not extra! Just ask your Liquid Therapist and they will mark it down.
