SIX Rooftop launches new plant-based seasonal tasting menu

SIX Rooftop has launched a new Taste of SIX plant-based seasonal tasting menu packed with vibrant, plant-powered dishes.

The restaurant, at the top of the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, introduced an entirely plant-based menu to its diners through a series of masterclasses and tasting evenings in 2019. The response to these was overwhelming, with more than 100 guests attending the later events. As interest continued to grow, the team decided to offer a permanent plant-based menu, which was launched after the venue’s refurbishment in 2024. Since then, A Taste of SIX plant-based menus have proven to be a resounding success, with plant-based dining now accounting for more than 20% of all diners.

In 2025, the team of chefs will continue to explore new plant-based techniques as they set out to further enhance the restaurant’s seasonal plant-based dining offering using the very best locally sourced produce available and showcase their commitment to sustainability and innovation.

With a focus on bold flavours, wholesome ingredients and new customisation, the latest menu offers something for everyone – from seasoned plant lovers to those looking to try something new. SIX’s team of expert mixologists have also created a range of matching no- and low-alcohol mocktail options alongside familiar favourites made using vegan spirit alternatives.

SIX Rooftop’s food director Greg Lambert said: “SIX has been at the forefront of delivering plant-based menus for quite a while now. As you’d expect, we put as much care and attention into each of our menu options, which shows just how serious we are about looking after every single one of our customers. All our menus are totally seasonal, which allows us to be ultra creative, especially when it comes to our plant-based menus – bringing a whole range of pickled, preserved, dehydrated and fermented ingredients to the plate. We also make use of a wide variety of locally sourced ingredients including grains, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds and legumes to create dishes that are diverse, colourful and nutrient-dense. We’re proud of the fact that SIX’s menus showcase the wide range of flavours, textures and possibilities that plant-based ingredients offer all year round.”

The Taste of SIX plant-based six-course menu is priced at £65 and is served 5.30-9pm, Tuesday-Saturday.
