Snark Liquidworks is a cozy brewpub in Kanamecho, one stop west of Ikebukuro. This relaxed brewpub is part of Nishiike Mart, a renovated facility that is now home to Snark Liquidworks, as well as a gallery and community radio station. The brewer/owner Mr. Fujiura is a legend among homebrewers in Japan having won the American Homebrewers Award in 1998 for his Toasted Coconut Porter, the inspiration for Heretic Brewing’s Chocolate Hazelnut Porter. With such heritage, you can be sure you’ll find something interesting rather than standard styles.
