The same principles apply but we have rounded up the vegan baby led weaning recipes ready to get you started. Vegan baby led weaning dinner time specials are included in our vegan baby led weaning meals below. We have some great delicious recipes for you to explore vegan baby food.
1. Egg-Free Mango and Coconut Vegan Baby Led Weaning Muffins
There is nothing nicer than a warm muffin on a cold day especially when you know that your muffin is packed to the brim with only good ingredients! Baby-led weaning muffins were one of the very first foods I gave to Oscar and with good reason. They don’t have to be unhealthy, filled with sugar and butter. It’s easy to make refined sugar free muffins when you use fresh fruit; additionally, many pureed fruits can replace some or all of the fat (like oil or butter) in baking recipe and they bake up SUPER moist like these vegan muffins!
2. Vegan Curried Butternut Squash Soup
I am a huge fan of autumn. It is not too cold, the trees look amazing, I get to wear both boots and cardigans and I don’t get strange looks when I eat soup! Yes I am that strange person who looks forward to autumn for these 3 main things. I have been slightly obsessed with making butternut squash recipe over the past few weeks but this one in particular has to be favourite.
3. Vegan Quiche – Tofu, Spinach & Mushroom
I have been experimenting with vegan baby led weaning ingredients since I started this project so that I can give you more options for your lovely babies. Vegan quiches are not something that I thought would work but these proved me wrong and, completely fooled my 13 year old daughter (who is still walking around the kitchen in amazement that I used no egg).
4. Sugar Free Carrot Cake Bites – Healthy Vegan Snack Ideas
Let me introduce one of my favourite healthy snack ideas recipes – Healthy Carrot Cake Bites. The absolute snack recipe for baby led weaning and toddlers. These also have the added bonus of being vegan, and gluten-free. Plus they are also one of the best healthy snacks when pregnant. We know how hungry you can get during this time, and these tasty bites are literally like little mouthfuls of satisfying joy!
5. Toddler Breakfast Recipes for the Whole Family – Loaded Oatmeal Breakfast Bowl!

7. Baby Led Weaning Porridge Fingers with Berries
Have you ever seen a baby at 6 months old feed them self porridge? You can probably just close your eyes and imagine the mess already! This is one of the main reasons parents opt for porridge fingers when it comes to weaning.
8. Healthy Carrot Cake Breakfast Bars
This recipe makes the perfect breakfast for baby-led weaning or even as a healthy snack for your toddler too. Plus I can vouch they are pretty good with a cuppa coffee at 11 am (just saying!).
9. Dairy Free Cheese Sauce for Kids
Past and mac and “cheese” are quick and easy staples for baby led weaning and toddler food, however it’s not always so easy to find a vegan baby led weaning cheese option. This delicious dairy-free cheese sauce recipe for kids is perfect on pasta, lasagne or just add nachos for a healthy toddler snack. It is super easy to make and stores well for a quick vegan snack or meal option.
10. Baby Led Weaning Egg Free Pancakes with Pineapple Coulis
This baby pancake recipe is egg-free and I also used a plant-based milk too so they are perfect for little ones with allergies. They don’t need any sweetener with the pineapple as it is already super sweet enough.
11. Dairy and Egg Free Lasagne Cups
This Egg and Dairy Free Lasagne honestly tastes just like the real thing! It’s easy to make and topped with your favourite dairy-free cheese.
12. Super Healthy Chickpea Cookies
Chickpeas are normally used for more savoury dishes but they work so well as a flour replacement and they pack a punch too! They are an excellent source of iron, are high in fibre, protein and also contain healthy fats.
13. Vegan Sesame and Soy Cauliflower Wings
Babies deserve FLAVOUR too! You know that craving you get for Chinese food? That distinct flavour that nothing else can satisfy? meet your new favourite recipe! These Vegan Sesame and Soy Cauliflower Wings are AMAZING! Swap out soy sauce for liquid aminos which has the same flavour but is low in salt for babies making this an excellent vegan baby led weaning and family meal!
14. Chocolate Avocado Mousse for Baby Led Weaning
It is great to have a healthy treat recipe like this that you know only good ingredients; avocado, banana, unsweetened cocoa powder, coconut milk and topped yoghurt (use coconut yoghurt for dairy free). That is it! I love when a simple recipe comes together 🙂
15. Hummus Made 4 Ways- Vegan Baby Led Weaning Snack
Hummus is one of the healthiest and tastiest snacks you and your family can eat. It has a good mix of protein, fat, minerals and fiber and keeps hunger at bay. Yes, you could buy a tub from your local supermarket but it won’t come with the same satisfaction as putting everything into a blender and whizzing up your own batch.
16. Butternut Squash Creamy Vegan Pasta Sauce
My kids all love creamy pasta sauces. Give them a carbonara any day over a veggie-filled tomato based sauce and it will be devoured up in no time. Where I can I opt for healthier alternatives like this recipe for butternut squash pasta sauce. It tastes like it is deliciously creamy and laden with butter and yet there isn’t a smidgen of butter or cream in sight.
17.Beetroot and Ginger Love Soup
Have you ever looked at a vegetable and thought what on earth am I going to do with that? Let me tell you that beetroot used to be that vegetable for me. I grew up in a house where my mother boiled and pickled her own and I just hated the farty smell that wafted through the house. I always loved it once the pickling process had happened, chopped over salads or just straight from the jar with a fork in hand. My mother would rave about it’s health benefits and told me the reason I had lovely skin was because of all the beetroot I ate.
18. Berry and Coconut Chia Seed Baby Pudding
This is one of the quickest most delicious vegan breakfast/dessert/snacks you can make for your family. It tastes deliciously creamy and is packed with fibre, protein, iron, calcium AND if that wasn’t all enough it also has omega-3 fatty acids. The perfect snack or breakfast or treat for your little one.
19.Healthy Sweet & Sour Chicken with Vegetarian Tofu Option
It is finally Friday! Can I get whoop whoop! What better way to celebrate the weekend than with a healthy fake-away right? This recipe is my kids new number one chicken recipe EVER!!!! (well so Oscar informed me). His favourite take away is always sticky chicken with rice from our local Asian restaurant. While it is amazing, I know it is also packed full of sugar and also high in salt too which I always try to avoid for smaller little ones.
20. Raspberry and Coconut Creams – Dairy Free Vegan Baby Led Weaning Recipe
These are quite probably the best baby-led weaning treat I have ever made! (I know I say that a lot but they really are). Each little bite is completely satisfying and deliciously light and fluffy and full of fresh berries.
