3 Things To Make Motherhood Easier

Every May, I get a little sentimental about motherhood since both of my girls have birthdays this month. Those milestones are just a week apart and are also adjacent to Mother’s Day, which always seems so fitting to me. And this year I am finding myself thinking about some of the ways I am finding motherhood to be easier now.

And what I might have done differently if it had been possible to have the perspective I have now, over a decade in.

Clearly we can’t go back in time, but I also know that many of you are in different life stages and have younger kids. And so, this week, I am sharing three things I TOTALLY would have done differently had I known better…or known differently.

The first one? To actually say no.

Like as a full sentence and with regularity, without so much tiptoeing around other people’s feelings or expectations of me—as a personal statement about just how much my needs matter, too.

I am both proud and a little nervous to say more about this but here goes…
