Make the Heritage Drop Biscuits according to the directions on the back of the box.

While the biscuits are in the oven, brown sausage in a large saucepan.

Use a paper towel to blot out some of the grease from the pan, leaving about three tablespoons to mix with the flour. Make sure to leave the drippings in the pan. That’s what gives the gravy it’s flavor.

Over medium heat, add flour and combine well with pan drippings until all the flour is incorporated. It will be quite thick. Cook the flour mixture for a few seconds.

Slowly stir in half and half or milk, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens.

Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Recipe Note
Notes: If you accidentally made your gravy too thick, slowly add more liquid until it’s the desired consistency.
