This rich and creamy homemade cream cheese frosting blends butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla for a smooth, tangy-sweet topping perfect for cakes and cupcakes.

Prep Time15 minutes

Ingredients 

  • 1 stick butter softened
  • 8 oz. cream cheese softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp milk
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Prepare the frosting by combining the softened butter, softened cream cheese, vanilla, milk and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl or stand mixer.

  • Use the whisk attachment on the stand mixer, or the whisk attachments of a hand mixer to get the most smooth frosting. Place in the fridge until ready to frost.
