There are many things I buy generic, but I will only buy name brand cottage and ricotta cheeses. First, the taste of the name brand versions of these, to me, is much better. Even though I really want to save on the cost of groceries, I do not like to sacrifice flavor. I don’t buy these cheeses often but, when I do, I want to enjoy them. I am not sure why the generic brands of these two items taste off to me.
I do consume other products that are generic which does help me to cut costs on some things, thankfully.
The second reason, and I wish I could re-find the article I was reading about this but sadly haven’t had any luck, is that I read that the generic brands may have fillers and stuff in them that I do not want. I’d rather just buy the products that don’t have them.
I am hoping that, when I finally have the time to research things, I am not going to find that all generic and store-brand items have things in them that we should not be consuming. If you know where to find information on this topic, I’d appreciate some links in the comments. Thank you.
