Burgermeister should already be on your radar if you’re looking for thick burgers. With locations in both Brickell and South Beach, this spot has been making tasty greasy waves in Miami’s burger scene, and for good reason.
My First Bite: Pandemic Delivery and Instant Respect

Burgermeister is where you go when you’re in the mood for a thick, juicy 8oz burger cooked exactly how you like it. My first experience? Right in the middle of the pandemic — delivery only, stripped down to just meat and cheese, no frills. And even in that bare-bones form, it hit just right.
That was the moment I knew these folks weren’t messing around.
Hitting Up the Brickell Location

It had been a minute since I found myself in Brickell — probably not since Burger & Beer Joint was still doing its thing down the street. But the call of a legit burger brought me back. Thankfully, Burgermeister’s Brickell spot is easy to get in and out of, and parking isn’t a nightmare as expected in that part of town.

Marcela and I showed up and, as usual, she couldn’t make up her mind. She finally landed on El Vato, loaded with pico de gallo, guacamole, grilled queso blanco, lettuce, grilled jalapeños, and a hit of hot sauce aka, a greatest hits playlist of everything she loves. I locked in on The Meltdown: caramelized onions, a melty blend of Swiss and Gruyère, and a crème fraîche aioli that’s smooth, tangy, and rich in all the right ways.

Both burgers were fire. We’ve been back a few times since and even tested out the Pollo Crispy, a hefty chicken sandwich — which also holds its own.

And if you’re hungry hungry, there’s the Smokehouse Burger.

Burger Club Meets Burgermeister

Burgermeister was invited back to the South Beach Wine & Food Festival Burger Bash — not their first rodeo. Before that, they hosted a Burger Club meetup to get feedback from our crew. We tried three different burgers to help choose which would cut the festival.
It was one of those awesome collabs where you could feel the passion behind the food. Spoiler alert: we helped pick the right burger for the big stage.

The Menu Breakdown

They’ve got nearly ten pre-built burgers, including crowd-pleasers like the Hangover Helper and Bacon N’ Shrooms, but you can also Craft Your Own. I haven’t ventured down that path yet — gotta work my way through the house hits and specials first.

Vegetarian or vegan? They’ve got options for you, too. And their sides: truffle fries, sweet potato fries, crispy onion rings — are no afterthought. And don’t forget the milkshakes.

What About the South Beach Location?
I haven’t made it to their South Beach location yet, but the invite is officially open, thanks to Burgermeister co-owner Alex. We discussed it on the Burger Beast Podcast, and I’m looking forward to making the trip—same burger power, new setting — just a few blocks from the beach.

Final Thought: Suburbs Need Love Too
Burgermeister‘s locked down Brickell and South Beach. That’s great, but can someone please bring one of these to the suburbs? We’re out here with empty stomachs and high hopes.
Have you been to Burgermeister yet? Drop your favorite burger in the comments, or let me know if you’re a Brickell or South Beach regular. And if you haven’t been — now you know where to go.
