Einstein Bros. Bagels has been a part of my breakfast routine for over 30 years. When Marcela and I first moved in together, it was our go-to spot at least once a week. To this day, it holds a special place in our hearts — and our stomachs.

A Personal Tale From the Early Days

Let me rewind to the early days of our relationship. Marcela was all about eating clean, loading up on veggies, and generally being the health-conscious one in the relationship. So naturally, I wanted to impress her. I skipped my usual meaty bagel sandwich one morning at Einstein’s and went for a veggie wrap instead.
Big mistake.
Two bites in, something felt…off. I peeled it open, and there it was — a full-on cricket, perfectly preserved like it was taking the deepest nap of its life. And by nap, I mean permanent sleep. I flagged down an employee, and their response was, “What do you want? It’s on the house.”
Needless to say, I’ve sworn off veggie wraps ever since. Marcela? She’s still a veggie fan. Me? I’ve moved on to more incredible things — like jalapeño cheddar bagels.
Our Favorite Einstein Bagel Orders

Einstein Bros. Bagels is known for its variety of freshly baked bagels, and our absolute favorite is the jalapeño cheese bagel. It’s the perfect base for any sandwich — be it with eggs, bacon, sausage, or even just a thick slab of cream cheese. Occasionally, we’ll grab a plain bagel with a generous helping of shmear, but we’re mostly here for that jalapeño fix.

And let’s talk about those hash brown rounds. Added to the menu a few years back, they’ve quickly become the unsung heroes of our breakfast lineup. Crispy, savory, and portable…they’re everything a breakfast side should be.
Coffee is always part of the order. It’s nothing fancy, just a hot cup of java to pair with a bagel sandwich. It hits the spot every time.

What to Expect at Einstein Bros. Bagels
Einstein Bros. isn’t the place for scratch-made omelets or frittatas. You won’t find a chef working over a sizzling skillet here. Instead, they offer quick, satisfying breakfast options that get the job done — perfect for busy mornings or casual weekends.
Whether you’re grabbing something on your way to work or sitting down with someone you love, Einstein Bros. Bagels delivers reliable comfort food with a side of nostalgia.
A Brief History of Einstein Bros. Bagels

Einstein Bros. Bagels was formed in 1995 by Boston Chicken (now Boston Market) as a way to break into the breakfast market. It combined several regional bagel chains like Noah’s Bagels and Manhattan Bagel to create a national brand. The company is now part of Panera Brands, which also owns Panera Bread and Caribou Coffee.
With hundreds of locations across the United States, Einstein Bros. has become a go-to for bagel lovers who want something fast but flavorful.
Why They Still Matter To Me
Einstein’s may not be fancy, but it’s familiar. For us, it’s about more than just bagels — it’s about memories, quick laughs, and reliable breakfasts. And honestly, when you find a spot that still makes you smile (even after a cricket incident), you keep returning.
Country Bagels & Gravy Egg Sandwich

The new Country Bagels & Gravy Egg Sandwich is perfect for anyone craving biscuits and gravy without the sit-down hassle. It’s filled with the flavors of a country breakfast: eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, and their Country Pepper Cream Cheese shmear that adds the signature “gravy.” All of it comes together on a toasted Country Sausage Bagel — no fork needed; plus, it’s for those of you on the go who want the whole breakfast experience in a handheld.
