Jazz up your pizza night with this hot honey pizza recipe. It’s great for those who like a little sweet with some heat.

What Is Hot Honey Pizza
For decades, people around the world have been adding crushed red pepper flakes or chile oil to their pizza.
Hot honey is an adaptation of that where chile flakes or fresh chiles are mixed with honey to create a spicy and sweet condiment.
Hot honey pizza is basically classic pizza that’s finished with a drizzle of hot honey. This added touch gives the pizza a pop of sweetness and heat. Sometimes it’s called Bee Sting Pizza or Hellboy Pizza.
-

How to make hot honey pizza
Preheat your grill or pizza oven to 600F degrees with a pizza stone added to the grill grate.
- STEP ONE: Make sure your dough is at room temperature. Then, stretch it out to your preferred thickness. Place it on a lightly floured pizza peel. Add the pizza sauce, leaving room for the crust.

PRO TIP: For best results, make sure your dough can shimmy off of the pizza peel before adding the sauce. If it sticks, sprinkle on more flour.
- STEP TWO: Add shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce. Layer on the pepperoni and salami slices and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.

- STEP THREE: Bake on the preheated pizza stone for 5-7 minutes.

- STEP FOUR: Once the crust and cheese are golden brown, it’s ready.

PRO TIPS: To avoid the crispy cheese bits like you see in the above picture, make sure your cheese is in the center and not on the edges.
- STEP FIVE: Remove the pizza from the grill and finish with a hot honey drizzle. Top with fresh basil.

How to serve hot honey pizza
Transfer the pizza to a cutting board or parchment paper lined baking sheet. Slice and serve with more hot honey and a side of parmesan cheese. Sometimes, I also like to sprinkle it with a pinch of kosher salt to amp up the flavors.

How do you make your own hot honey?
Place 1 cup honey and 1-2 teaspoons of red pepper flakes in a small saucepan. Simmer over low heat for 5-10 minutes. Strain out the pepper flakes and cool to room temperature.
Storage
Store leftover hot honey pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Reheat slices in the microwave or air fryer. I don’t recommend freezing the cooked pizza.
